The Central Valley Baptist Church in Meridian, Idaho is seen Thursday. Missionaries from the church were charged with kidnapping Thursday for trying to take 33 children out of Haiti to a hastily arranged refuge just as officials were trying to protect children from predators in the chaos of a great earthquake. Funny story about Central Valley Baptist…

Several years ago, when I lived in Boise, several of my frinds and i were hanging out downtown on one of the cruise nights. We had brought a couple of acoustic guitars and we were holding an impromptu jam session by the fountains on the corner of Capital and Idaho. A group of teens from CV baptists came up to us to evangelize. The conversation went something like this…

Them: Hi. We're from Central Valley Baptist, we'd like to share the gospel with you. (attempts to hand us tracts)
Us: No need. We've got it covered.
Them: But if you don't accept Jesus as your personal savior, you'll go to hell.
Us: Yeah, we've all ready done that. You can go preach to someone else who needs God more than us.
Them: But you need Jesus. You must repent of your sins.
Us: Did that. It's OK, we're Christians. we go to a church a few blocks from here.
Them: But Christians don't hang out downtown durring the cruise.
Us: You're down here during the cruise.
Them: But we're trying to save sinners!
Us: And we're trying to sing and play some music.
Them: If you don't believe in God's word…
Us: Dudes, we go to first Baptist. You don't need to preach to us.
Them: But you have to accept Jesus! (attempts to hand us tracts, again)
Us: We love Jesus… seriously… you can go harrass someone else now.
Them: Fine! If you don't want to hear our message of love an hope, you can all go to Hell!

    Then they stomped off.

According to the S/R story on page A16, Ms. Silsby has had numerous brushes with the legal system. Don't want to appear to pass judgement but she seems to be a dead beat in financial matters. Could be her house needs cleaning!

Very interesting, nic. Makes perfect sense. Our way or the highway.

Charlie, pay attention, we already know Silsby is a fraudster. Was reported on this blog mid-day Thursday.
