Because there is no wild card (and Michael Ramirez suffers the same ODS as Suite)
“Now there are many, many ways Sarah Palin could help this country. Running for President will never be one of them. You listen to her long enough and actually feel yourself getting dimmer by the minute, like a dying light bulb.”—Mike Lupica
Actually Ramirez has a much more lethal case of ODS than hmoffsuite. At least hmoff focuses on economics most of the time, and you have to give him credit for being consistent.
Ramirez, on the other hand, is simply hateful and unfunny, and every one of his not-funny and not-accurate cartoons is coming from a deep reservoir of out-and-out hatred.
For hmoff, I suspect it's political, and I can respect that. With Ramirez, it's like Jack Nicholson in “The Shining,” with Ramirez writing “I hates Obama” instead of “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.”
It would be nice to see Ramirez go after Palin for her outright lies and stupidity (and the cynical way she's raking in the $$$ at the expense of supposedly “simple and old-fashioned” people), but he's too busy feeding his ODS to stray that far away from attacking the Oval Office.
Thanks for the quote, Phaedrus. I feel stupider every time I hear her speak.

Perhaps that light bulb is getting dimmer because it was on the low end of the wattage to begin with.
And if Hmoff has ODS, there are many here that have HmoffDS. Which is much worse because he is much less of a player than Obama, but he seems to get to you guys worse than Bush did.
Nice, Cabbage. You're getting so mean in your old age. What happened to the nice and polite Cabbage Boy I remember from a few years ago?
Anyhow, I don't suffer from HmoffDS. I used to get tired of his (mostly) daily posting of anti-Obama links, but I went into a training camp and learned how to ignore those posts and concentrate on the posts where he says nothing about Obama. I've learned that hmoff is a pretty decent guy with good ideas when he's not focusing on Obama, and I like his taste in music.
Now, I *will* admit that I suffer from Kage_Mann Derangement Syndrome. The combination of insane punctuation, conspiracy theories, and stupefying ignorance are more than I can handle. Try as I might to ignore him, I simply cannot. I'm working on it, but I'm usually too busy practicing my Arts of the Paper Professor to have time to fight my debilitating KMDS.

I honestly think that if many of us were to set our political persuasions aside, and get together for a beer or whatever, we might actually enjoy each others company, thoughts and ideas.
MM, your pre-conceived guilt is showing. I didn't name you, I was thinking of a couple other commenters that jump all over Hmoff every day.
I was polite back in the day? Huh, must have had my internet cloaking device more finely tuned back then. I am still myself. Always got a bit of biting sarcasm for any thread.
“I honestly think that if many of us were to set our political persuasions aside, and get together for a beer or whatever, we might actually enjoy each others company, thoughts and ideas.”—hmoffsuite
I agree. There is something to be said for not discussing politics or religion with friends and family.
@ HMO re: ““I honestly think that if many of us were to set our political persuasions aside, and get together for a beer or whatever, we might actually enjoy each others company, thoughts and ideas.”—hmoffsuite”
So you plan to attend Blogfest VI to enjoy the company of Phaedrus and other members of your extended HBO family?
So far today (its early), the only thing that I have seen that really got my attention was the item that Obama has invited the GOP to the White House for televised health care discussion. I think this is a very good thing. And, I actually applaud Obama for taking this action.
“But when she adds her own spin, it’s to hope that Obama would “do whatever he could do to support Israel” — meaning what exactly? In the context, it sounds like she thinks starting more wars in the Middle East, or taking measures that are likely to lead to more wars, is good for Israel and therefore ought to be American policy. I don’t think for her “do whatever he could do to support Israel” means hosting talks at Camp David.
Palin wants to be, simultaneously, Pitchfork Sarah and Bill Kristol’s very own Eliza Doolittle. But she’s much more the latter than the former.
There’s no room for doubt here: Sarah Palin means war.”
Regardless of what Palin wants to do, the more important question is what is Obama going to do with Iran. Seems to me that the nicey, nicey approach isn't yielding much of a result. Meanwhile, Iran continues to develope its nuclear and missle capabilites. If something isn't done to curb their activities, Obama could wind up with a problem of a much more serious nature. I would like to see him do something.

Will still be in Arizona, Dave. But if there is some sort of a gathering this summer, I will surely attend. Phaedrus. You got a deal.
