AM Scanner Traffic: Body Found

9:11 a.m. Sgt. Christie Wood reports (see 8:11 item) that the deceased individual at Sanders Beach is an elderly male. The body is just off shore. Officers are checking to see if there's anything suspicious at the site. They haven't checked the pile of clothes for a wallet. Initial media report here.

  • 11:20 a.m. 35YO male w/a mullet is standing @ Seltice Way & Spokane/Post Falls, yelling at passing vehicles.
  • 10:58 a.m. Caller wants to know if Hayden Creek is open to snowmobiles.
  • 10:52 a.m. A male in a cap is ran across I-90 @ M/P 12 (Government Way)
  • 10:45 a.m. A maroon passenger car is over an embankment in the 4000 block of French Gulch/CdA.
  • 9:56 a.m. A white vehicle belonging to a local insurance company is speeding on H95 at Chilco. The driver may be working on his laptop.
  • 9:37 a.m. An alarm at Skyway Elementary was triggered by dust on it.
  • 9:22 a.m. Caller reports that a person wanted on a Bonner County warrant is visiting a house @ 9th & Hazel/CdA.
  • 9:17 a.m. A child is locked in a RAV in front of Chinook building on Ironwood.
  • 8:22 a.m. A 53YO female is suffering chest pains in front of Post Falls Food Bank.
  • 8:11 a.m. A body reportedly is floating in the water at Sanders Beach in front of the Jewett House. CPD Blues are responding to a call from an East Lakeshore Drive resident who spotted the body. The reporting parties (a couple walking their dog) said they found clothes piled on the shoreline. Responding officers are told to be careful because the roads are slick. Another officer said to use an alternative route to the site because an accident is blocking 3rd & Hazel. Another officer advises to block off the area in case it is a crime scene.
