TGIF Wild Card — 3.5.10

We need some nominations for the next HBO Grub Club site. Syringa finished second to Nosworthy’s last time. Then, the 4th Street Pantry was mentioned at Blogfest ‘10. I’m open to any suggestion. I personally got much value of the first two discussions re: The Porch and Nosworthy’s. The Porch is on my diner’s list. But I’ll probably pass on Nosworthy’s (although it sounds like a swell place, too). I generally steer clear of places that don’t accept debit cards. Let me know which place you want to review. Your Wild Card is in play …

I like Syringa and I’d also suggest O’Shea’s. Could there be two more different places?

whoops, typed O’Shea out of habit. The pub in east CDA spells it O’Shay.

Not sure about a restaurant to suggest but I do have a book and a movie to suggest to anyone looking for something to read or watch.

The book: The Art of Racing in the Rain….if you are a dog lover, and I know there are many here, you will love this book. Kleenex may be necessary. Go Enzo!

The movie: Temple Grandin…this is an HBO movie so I am not sure it is out on video for rent but if you have any interacting, from a distance or closely, with anyone who is autistic then this is a must see. Special people who see life so simply, yet also understand it’s complexity. Your heart will will fill with pride in the human spirit. This is true story about a real person who is a professor in Colorado.

    Good call.

I’ve eaten at Syringa and 4th street diner within the last week.. Probably can’t convince the spouse that we should do a repeat so quickly. (not that I’d complain) Have heard good things about Kelly’s on 4th street across from Capones though. Would love a reason to try them out.

Idaho Vandals make #2 on ESPN’s Plays of the Day, with a 3/4-court basket from Kashif Watson:

    A moment of silence, please.
I’m about ready to go to the DMV to get my license renewed.
I’m tempted to send Dave a before picture, because I think I look okay. The after picture however, will be horrifying and scary.
And if they ask me anything about red light cameras I’m referring them to Starr Kelso.

CindyH, renew your drivers license on a Friday afternoon the 1st week of the month? That’s horrible, I’d rather hang out at Opencda.com!

Better take a book (see above comment^^^^) or at least a sack full of snacks.

Another beautiful weekend ahead, I expect some bloggers and blurkers to make an effort to come by and except a beautiful walking stick from me as a gift, as I do each day with anyone and everyone that comes by.
