NotMyBathroom Fights Missoula Plan

Item: Citing restroom safety, NotMyBathroom.com opposes Missoula anti-discrimination ordinance/Kelly Szpaller, Missoulian

More Info: But NotMyBathroom.com chairman Tei Nash said the chief concern is the safety of women and children in public restrooms. He said the ordinance would give a man who “is female affirmed” the freedom to use women’s restrooms. “When he walks into the bathroom, you can’t stop them,” Nash said. “Is that going to surprise you and the kids? It probably is. Most women will be frightened to no end. Kids, too. They won’t understand.”

Question: What do you make of the NotMyBathroom.com concern that molesters will take advantage of the proposed Missoula ordinance to enter restrooms used by women and children?

” … NotMyBathroom.com notes concerns beyond restroom safety as well, and Erickson said freedom is one overarching issue. He said landlords who rent out an apartment in their home should be able to decide on their tenant.

“You can either give the freedom to the people who rent apartments … or you can take it away from them and give it to the gays,” Erickson said.”

    Bigot, and a moron.

@ Spoke re: “Bigot, and a moron.”

Why do you regularly use these terms to paint individuals with whom you disagree. Seriously, it’s extremely off-putting.

A bigot is someone who thinks it’s perfectly fine to discriminate against gay people, in the cited reference, in the area of housing.

A moron is someone who equates providing equal treatment in housing to gay people as taking away their freedom (to discriminate) and giving it to the gays.

@ Spokane; I know what a bigot and a moron are. And I also realize that you use those terms regularly to paint individuals who disagree with you on moral issues — something that few others do here. And. I’m. Getting. Dang. Tired. Of it. Be warned.

I would not be frightened by a transgender person using “my” restroom. That’s what the door is for.

Fear of transgender folk is based on ignorance. Transgender people are not child molesters. The reality is that the average child molester is a middle aged, heterosexual, married man. You know, your neighbor or the guy in the pew next to you at church. Not the “scary” woman in the bathroom at Walmart.
