    Phil Hart Poem Day 3.

This is a Hip-Hop rhyme inspired by internet sensation Antoine Dodson. Please google him if you are unfamiliar.

He’s climbin in your State Land
    He’s snatchin your endowment up
Tryna log em tryna log em so y’all need to
Hide your kids, hide your wife
Hide your kids, hide your wife
Hide your kids, hide your wife
And hide your husband cuz he’s takin’ bogus exemptions
You don’t have to come and settle
    We’re lookin for you
We gon find you we gon deny you
So you can run and tell that,
    Run and tell that
Run and tell that, Phil Hart

Cali’s ‘We-Grow’: The Home Depot of Marijuana?

Officials and businesspeople in 37 states and thousands of cities are ignoring billions in potential revenues in a time of crisis, by failing to support medical and recreational use of marijuana. It’s not so in Oakland, which has learned its lessons the hard way.

I need a cure for the blues. Any Ideas?
Too many deaths around me, lately. I don’t think I’m old but I’m starting to feel a older all of a sudden.
I need some hints to feel younger. All my playmates are working or having family time this weekend. What can I do on this nice day?

  • Bubblehead on October 15 at 12:02 p.m.

Any reference to Antoine Dodson is hilarious. For those who haven’t seen his video(s), please watch the “news report” one first, then the Auto-tune song. You’ll be glad you did.

I can’t top what @Lizard_People submitted, but I did go to the CD1 debate last night, and was inspired to write an essay: http://bubbleheads.blogspot.com/2010/10/interested-observers-take-on-american.html

    I am such a geek.

DFO writ: “There doesn’t seem to be as much money out there as there has been in the past for candidates to get there message out. At least not in the county races. I’ll be checking the legislative campaign finances in North Idaho later today.”

I’d *really* be delighted to see you post some info about non-Kootenai County races… Places like Moscow, Lewiston, Sandpoint, etc - or statewide races that haven’t received the coverage you’ve given to Minnick/Labrador…

We really need a DFO in each town. ;)

“I need a cure for the blues. Any Ideas”? kamm

Go for a walk in a park. Maybe, Tubbs Hill. Go on YouTube and watch pranks or bloopers. Here’s a video of a news blooper. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIS7je5BBj4 (the dilemma is charcoal or gas. ;-)

@ Moscow Minidoka re: “I’d *really* be delighted to see you post some info about non-Kootenai County races… Places like Moscow, Lewiston, Sandpoint, etc - or statewide races that haven’t received the coverage you’ve given to Minnick/Labrador …”

I’d like give more coverage to other area. But I barely can keep up with what I’m doing now. Kootenai County, of course, is my base. So I have to take care of things here. And I have to rely on other papers to pick up on things elsewhere. ‘Tain’t easy. Have you ever thought about becoming Moscow’s DFO?

  • Sisyphus on October 15 at 12:12 p.m.

I only had time to scan your piece Bubbles but it looks exquisitely wonky. I’d quibble with your underestimating the power of money for GOTV but its just a quibble. Can I again convince you to cross post?

  • Sisyphus on October 15 at 12:14 p.m.

Also, if I introduce my meat puppet self to you will you respect my desire for anonymity?

  • moscow_minidoka on October 15 at 12:17 p.m.

I understand, DFO - no sweat. I just wanted to throw that out there in case the lack of coverage was due to disinterest.

As to the other suggestion - I’ve got a job, a wife, and three kids under the age of 6. And I quit working in journalism full-time in 2002. I already spend more time on HBO than my wife likes, so I think I’d better just leave things be! ;)

  • Sisyphus on October 15 at 12:21 p.m.

MM, I seem to be running a one man show at 43sb as my compatriots are blitzed again. Its much tamer since Binky left. I’d again encourage you (and/or Reggie) to research and post your findings on races in your area. Reg did a bang up job on the Bouma race. Read the FAQ section for the rules and I’d be more than happy to guide you to other resources if’n you need such guidance. Serephin and D2 alternate as gate keepers and if they give you any lip tell them I sent you. You’d be welcome with open arms.

  • kamm on October 15 at 12:29 p.m.

Thanks Kage-Man. That’ll get me dressed and out of the house.

“…When you’re up to you arse in alligators, it’s hard to remember that your initial task was to drain the swamp.” unknown author

  • moscow_minidoka on October 15 at 12:29 p.m.

Thanks Sis. I signed up at 43sb but don’t have the permissions to comment etc - but I also haven’t taken the time to read the FAQ.

Agree that ReggieH’s coverage of the Bouma/Schmidt race was top-notch. I wish DFO had a way to front-page some of the controversy of this race, but I suppose there’s only a few of us on here who’d care. It’s an important race as Gary Schroeder’s letter indicates. There’s nothing quite like someone running for office in Latah County promising to cut the budget of the UI - the county’s biggest employer.

One thing I will say about 43sb… the design stinks, compared to HBO. But I realize that it’s a labor of love, and not bankrolled by a media corporation.

  • moscow_minidoka on October 15 at 12:51 p.m.

From HuffPo; “Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin found an interesting new attack on Democrats Thursday night, telling an audience in San Jose, Calif. that leaders of the party “act like they’re permanent residents of a unicorn ranch in fantasyland.”

Oh no! Don’t tell Mr. Bloggy!

“Thanks Sis. I signed up at 43sb but don’t have the permissions to comment”.

“One thing I will say about 43sb… the design stinks”. MM

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out why you’re not allowed to comment over there. ;-)

  • moscow_minidoka on October 15 at 1:53 p.m.

“t doesn’t take a genius to figure out why you’re not allowed to comment over there. ;-) ”

Thank goodness, or you’d *never* figure it out…

  • Shannon on October 15 at 2:14 p.m.

DFO-any clue what all the smoke is from south of town?

  • Sisyphus on October 15 at 3:10 p.m.

I’ll address that access issue straight away MM. We’ll get you set up with your own blog and you can go to town. You’re right about it being a labor of love but what is it about the design that stinks? Once I overcame my inherent luddite tendencies its been remarkably easy to use. And I love love love Serephin’s collection of quotes in the upper left hand corner.

If you pimp it, Dave may front page you, depending on how much crap you’ve been giving him. ;-)

  • ReggieH on October 15 at 6:18 p.m.

I’m e-blushing. Maybe I should put up this latest Bouma video over at 43SB: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOAD-f7zQDs

  • JIMMYMAC on October 15 at 11:52 p.m.

I just wanted to throw it out there that NCAA B BALL Midnight Madness was on tonight…sooooooooooo, won’t be too long before we are jumping and thumping for my beloved Bulldogs. Not like I’m excited.
