Noon: Do Dorks Really Get The Girl?

Here's an interesting equation: The less attractive a man is and the hotter a woman is, the more he is proportionately confident in his chances at hooking up with her. Let that one roll around in your head for a while. According to a study that will soon be published in Psychological Science, the less attractive and dorkier a man is, the more he is likely to think that women can't help themselves around him. The full study is laid out in a story on msnbc.com, but basically, 200 straight college students participated in the study in which they ranked their own physical attractiveness, then went through a speed-dating-like event, after which they ranked how attracted their counterpart was to them/Deanna Dare, Boise Weekly. Question: Do you know any dorks? How are they different from nerds?
