House OKs Anti-Union Bills
The House has voted 55-14 in favor of SB 1006, to ban project labor agreements in public works construction contracts, a measure strongly opposed by union workers; the Senate-passed bill now moves to the governor's desk. Backers, including House sponsor Rep. Frank Henderson, R-Post Falls, said the measure would level the playing field for union and non-union bids for public contracts, but opponents said it would do the opposite/Betsy Russell, Eye On Boise.
