Construction is well underway on Phase 1-A of the Education Corridor project. Currently River Avenue is closed while pavement and sidewalk removal takes place to allow for underground utility work. The entrance to campus via Park Drive off of Northwest Boulevard is still open and guides drivers along the detour path. Drivers needing access to Rosenberry Drive (the dike road), are routed through the main North Idaho College campus along Garden Avenue and College Drive/Stacy Hudson, NIC Press Room. More here. Question: Does this mean that the usual suspects will quit fighting the Education Corridor?

DFO, you’ve been around long enough to know that “the usual suspects” never say die, it’s in their dna to be knee jerk reactionaries.

Speaking of “the usual suspects”, I’ve noticed that Dan Gookin hasn’t been around since the Bonner County Prosecutor issued his decision on the frivolus “Sims” complaint…

To all HBO Readers :
The Fort Ground Grill is indeed open during construction. You can access it by going around the road closed signs both at River Ave (Pictured here) and off of Hubbard going thru the old mill site. The road is a little dusty and bumpy but very passable. Please be aware of construction. Our employees, my family and I greatly appreciate your business. And to quote an old friend of mine, “The inconvenience is temporary but the improvements are permanent.”
To give a plug to my friend Bent, he will be in full BBQ mode at the Fort Ground from 3pm to fireworks on July 4th. He is going to offering his award winning BBQ menu and we will be providing the beverages. Please come down if you get a chance.
Thank you,
Steve Widmyer.

Hucks Online should be posting a tile ad sometime today announcing Bent’s BBQ event at Steve’s Fort Ground Grill. For those of you keeping score, Bent will also be providing the BBQ next month when Huckleberries finally — finally! — stages Blogfest 2011 at Fort Ground Grill. Also … and this is breaking news for Bent & Steve, too … Doug Clark has agreed to sing for his supper at Blogfest, too. We feed him and he sings free. So Blogfest ‘11 will feature Bent’s BBQ, Fort Ground Grill, and columnist singer Doug Clark.
Bent on June 23 at 1:01 p.m.
Thanks for the plug guys… I am excited to be cooking at both events! I promise to deliver on some of the best BBQ you’ve ever eaten!
Bent on June 23 at 1:30 p.m.
Woo Hoo our ad is ready SteveW and DFO… the SR ad staff did a good job on that… can’t wait to see it posted… (it’s my first ad ever)

As for the question, I sure hope so. And I also hope everyone from here comes to either the 4th at the Grill, or blogfest later in the month at the same Grill. Great events both, with Bent serving and Steve hosting. Great combination. You can’t go wrong, and at the blogfest, we all meet and love the family. Doesn’t get much better than that.
DFO on June 23 at 5:04 p.m.
@ Stickman … 2 separate events … Bent’s BBQ will take place on 4th of July weekend … Blogfest 2011 on Sunday, July 24.

We are not fighting anything, we are just trying to protect the taxpayers dollars.
Since you don’t pay rent to the former owner of a property you own, we hold that NIC is entitled to several million dollars that they “pre-paid” and we intend to get it back for them, so it can be used for education at NIC. Good for us, right?

Haven’t you guys also lost that battle? What do you guys thinks it means when a court rules against you re: the Education Corridor or the Coeur d’Alene City Council election challenge. Do you simply plug years ears, close your eyes, and begin chirping lalalala when people say I told you so … only to pretend that you actually won those decisions later. Do you believe, for example, that Kathy Sims is right when she says that Mayor Sandi Bloem and the Coeur d’Alene City Council have a conflict of interest on McEuen Field votes, even thought two independent legal entities say she’s all wet? Do you guys live in an alternate universe? Is the Kroc Center still sitting on purloined landfill?
