The sky's overcast outside. The Legislature is still in session doing the goofy things that it is prone to do this session, with Vito Barbieri leading the way today. But, hey, a bunch of local college basketball teams have won bids to postseason play, including the Lady Cards, both Idaho Vandals teams, WSU, and, of course, both Gonzaga teams. A lot of other news has taken the spotlight recently, but isn’t this Friday the next deadline for the passage of a federal budget? Anybody see any news on the likelihood of a government shut down?

CNN’s reporting that the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station which had 50 workers trying to prevent further damage have abandoned that effort.

They might be looking at doing what happened at Chernobyl, helocoptering in tons of cement to bury the beast.

Here’s a weird thought: Vito Barbieri might not like Brian Kane, a deputy attorney general.

Barbieri wants to allow the Legislature to here its own attorneys for legal opinions, right? Well, who does that now? Kane.

Why is that significant? Well, remember that Kane served as the deputy AG for the ethics panel for Barbieri’s seat mate, Rep. Phil Hart.

I wonder if this is a bill simply to get back at Kane for hammering Hart………..
