Luna Unfavorability Ratings Soar

Tuesday, May 3, is National Teacher Day, and the first week in May is traditionally marked as Teacher Appreciation Week. Although Idaho teachers have been under siege due to budget cuts and radical school reform laws, Idaho educators can take heart that they’re viewed three times more favorably than State Superintendent Tom Luna. In a recent poll, only 25 percent of likely voters surveyed gave Tom Luna a favorable rating, compared to a 75 percent favorable rating for teachers. Luna’s unfavorability rating skyrocketed from 18 percent negative in March 2010 to 41 percent negative a year later, with 15 percent taking a neutral view/Idaho Education Association news release. Question: Describe how a teacher had a major impact on your life?
