BP: Recall Will Harm Local Economy

A Berry Picker writes: "I was thinking this morning of how potentially damaging this recall could be not only to Coeur d Alene but the entire area. We are finally thawing out of the biggest economic downturn of our lifetimes. Companies are looking at possible expansion or maybe relocating. Other business people may be thinking of a start up. What are they going to think of Coeur d Alene when they read that the mayor and one half of the council is undergoing a recall campaign? I am sure they are going to think twice not only about what type of local government we have but also what type of community we have. In addition one of the most important things for new companies is the strength of our school system. And we have one of our school board members signing on to this recall campaign. Shameful.  The potential of lost job opportunities is frightening. Not only for our current situation but for years to come."

Question: Will there be economic ramifications from a successful recall?
