Letter: City Sought Input On McEuen

As mentioned here over the weekend and on Monday, the Stop the Recall movement will mail out 21,000 letters this week, countering claims of the Souza-Sims-Orzell Recallers. One of the myths that Jennifer Drake, Sara Meyer & Co attack head on is the claim that Mayor Sandi Bloem & the 3 targeted council members didn't listen to the public. I'll publish the entire letter later this week. Until then, here's a sample:

FICTION: They promised open meetings and compromise but pursued their own agendas behind closed doors.
FACT: There were 38 presentations to the public about McEuen, two surveys circulated, and nearly 50 City Council meetings over the last 2 years. Every single one of these presentations and meetings was an opportunity for the public to be heard. In consideration of all the input received, many compromises were made since the original design was presented, including removing Tubbs Hill from the redesign and leaving the boat launch in place.

DFO: I attended at least three public meetings on the proposed overhaul of McEuen Field -- the opening presentation at North Idaho College; the one at Woodland Middle School in which state Sen. Kathy Sims foamed that the mayor & several others had conflicts of interest in the project; and an open house at the Coeur d'Alene City Library to view a compromised presentation of the plan.

Question: How many city-sponsored meetings on McEuen Field did you attend?
