I am so excited about my husband's new birthday present I gave him! I just could not wait to try it! :-) It's my day off so I am testing a batch of hamburger jerky. I guess it is
easier to chew, so thought I would experiment with about 2 lbs of 90% lean ground beef. So far, this has been going for about a couple of hours, you rotate the trays, and it's done in about a day and a half - should be ready about midnight or sooner! If it turns out I will post the recipe, right now you can just pretend to smell it! I am going to do all sorts of stuff with this new dehydrator I got my dear husband! Update: It was about perfect at around 8:00 p.m. for me, but the hubby said just a bit longer, so it went into the wee hours of the morning (ooops) and turned into like a 'cracker' - he likes it, but I need some 'chew' to the jerky - no crunch. Anyway, you can adapt the hyperlinked recipe just about anyway you want/Stebbijo, Stebbijo's Place. More here.
Question; Have you ever made jerky? What kind of meat? Good stuff?
