U.S. 95 between Chilco and Silverwood will be paved beginning this week from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., creating substantial delays for motorists wanting to use Chilco Road, the Idaho Transportation Department announced here.

The contractor will be doing test strips of asphalt until Thursday (Aug. 23), with paving on U.S. 95 to follow.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes along U.S. 95. Delays of up to two hours are anticipated for those using Chilco Road during paving operations.  Motorists can expect intermittent delays at Chilco Road through Nov. 1.
