KCres asks on today's Wild Card thread about senior portraits here.  

Senior pictures, what’s that all about? Someone told us that they are used to send to friends and relatives in the hope of raising a bit of cash for college. Really? Now that might help if we had loads of family here who knew that. And had money.

What is a reasonable amount to spend? Is there such a thing as reasonable? But then again, why worry, it all pales into insignificance next year once we start paying for college. Damn you SD271, if only you hadn’t helped him score so well in his SAT and ACT. UI sounds really appealing to us, shame he’s set his heart on an out of state school.

Anyone have helpful tips? PS -  Costco prints great photos in the wallet size that would be perfect for announcements.  I've seen fabulous senior photos that are done by regular Joes and not a professional.
