Later this month, the contractor ACI Northwest, Inc., will begin to break ground at McEuen Park.  The contractor was awarded this initial contract, a small portion of the total work to be done, last night at the Coeur d'Alene City Council meeting.  ACI Northwest's bid was significantly lower -- approximately $440,000 less than the other bids.  Mayor Sandi Bloem split the council's tie vote, per usual.

ACI Northwest will put in a parking lot south of City Hall and will begin to excavate the park.  The remaining park upgrade work will be put out for bid at a later.  Read more here.  File photo.

Want to place bets we undergo another Dirt Gate at some point in this project?  Anyone glad to be finally be moving forward now that the Recall is done?
