Ex-Judge Escapes Jail After DUI Plea

Nicole Cannon, a former Twin Falls County 5th District Court magistrate judge, pleaded guilty and was sentenced today for driving under the influence in Ada County 4th District Court. Cannon was sentenced to 160 hours of community service which was converted from 20 days in jail. The community service may be performed in Blaine, Twin Falls or Gooding counties. She was also sentenced to one year of misdemeanor supervised probation. Cannon was granted withheld judgment in the case. This means if she successfully completes probation, the charge could be removed from her record/Twin Falls Times-News. More here.

Question: Is 160 hours of community service a good punishment for a former judge who received a DUI?
