TGIF Wild Card — 2.3.12

We're at the end of another productive week at HucksOnline. Where the political story line is getting curiouser and curiouser, with state Sen. Jim Hammond opting to seek the presidency of North Idaho College rather than re-election. And state Rep. Bob Nonini jumping at warp speed into the void by announcing that he wants Hammond's Senate seat. House Speaker Lawerence Denney has ap-hollow-gized for being heavy handed (and getting called on it) toward redistricters. And Stormin' Norm Semanko has pulled the plug on his bid for another term as Idaho GOP chair. We have much to anticipate as the new redistricting map takes hold. So I'll play this Wild Card and see how the day unfolds …

Beautiful weather, so bright and sunny. Robins have invaded my neighborhood. I would expect the crocuses to start popping up in my yard, if there wasn’t still a good 6 inches of frozen snow on top of it.

Saw that hmoff. He crashed on takeoff at the airport this morning. They stopped trading on Micron stock.

Could it be… Is common sense breaking out?

It looks like the Israel/Iran thing is heating up again and Panetta said today he expects that Israel will be reacting to the Iran bomb threat. Activity over there would a bad thing, I think, for our economic recovery. Wondering if any of you have any thoughts on that situation. I’m perplexed, by it and can’t see any easy resolution. Iran said they launched a satellite today and said that they would have a missile that could reach the USA. This is a bigger deal than the attention it is getting, imo.

And, the Solyndra matter keeps resurfacing and gets uglier and uglier. The WH knew the company was toast and kept that quiet as they loaned them the money. Great deal for the guys that donated heavily to the Obama campaign, and then got $600 million payback. Sweet. ROI

    Idaho hate’s science. http://io9.com/5881494/your-state-sucks-at-science

Don’t know if that’s because we’re not smart enough or because we think it’s all lies. Either way, we’re failing.

hmo: I’m not sure my thoughts are with yours, but I do like the fact that Israel is tough and may take it on their own to stop the threats at some of their borders. I will always be with them. If activity there is bad for our economy, so be it, it’s bad as it is.

As for the Solyndra matter, it was bad and I really don’t want to hear anymore about it. Hopefully it goes away. It was bad for everyone involved and a lot of money was wasted. Hopefully we make better decisions next time. If we don’t, then I’m sure we will all hear about it.

hmo, I’m guessing although the press is down playing the Iran situation, the White House is on top of it. Didn’t hear a bunch of noise on bin ladin, then bam!!

Stickman, I agree, I will always side with Isreal and am glad to see them stand up for themselves. I am concerned about our economy but I think Iran really needs to be watched and stopped if the threat rises.

On another note, got my latest schedule for the week after next and will definitely be free for the blog fest. I will meet you guys there at the Fort Ground Tavern.
