Update: House Speaker Lawerence Denney has appointed Bob Forrey of Nampa and State Chairman Norm Semanko has appointed Angela Cross of Post Falls.
The Republican Party is suing the secretary of state over redistricting in the Idaho Supreme Court, contending
the party's chairman and the speaker of the House of Representatives have the power to fire their appointees and name new members to the panel. Republican Chairman Norm Semanko (right) and House Speaker Lawerence Denney (left) want to remove redistricting commissioners Randy Hansen, a former Twin Falls legislator, and Dolores Crow, a former House member from Nampa. But the Idaho attorney general says Semanko and Denney don't have the power to remove them, even though they appointed Hansen and Crow to the panel/Associated Press. More here.
Question: Would Kootenai County/North Idaho benefit from having a redistricter from Post Falls (if the Idaho GOP is permitted to replace current commissioners)?

Interesting context. Chief Justice Burdick will be giving the state of the judiciary speech tomorrow and asking the legislature for more money.

The twitter machine (Clark Corbin) sez “Bob Forrey of Nampa, Angela Cross of Post Falls appointed to citizens #redistricting panel.” What can you tell me about Angela?

Wow, so the requirement to be a surgical technician is to study interior design first. Strangely appropriate, I guess.

Thanks Dave. This is fairly interesting from a legal standpoint because a writ of mandamus is a rare beast and SCOTSOI is loathe to utilize it. There’s a reason there’s no provision for firing commissioners. I can’t see the court agreeing with these guys because if they succeed in obtaining this power, then what’s to stop them from exercising it any time they disagree with commissioners when they adopt a reapportionment plan Norm and Denney don’t like. Moreover, the court has already ruled in this case remanding it to commission to “reconvene” and select a plan that meets the Constitutional requirement. In other words they didn’t order them to start from scratch, which is what Norm and Denney want to do.

Angela Cross is a nice lady and a hardcore, right wing ideologue. Compromise isn’t in her dictionary.

John and Angela Cross moved to Idaho from the Great State of California and he sell real estate at Coldwell Banker in Coeur d’Alene. John is currently GOP Region One Chairman and of course is married to Angela. Here is what John had to say about Rep Phil Lewis Hart.
“The Region I members herby resolves that should the ethics complaints against Representative Hart be shown to be unsubstantiated or unfounded, that it would be in the best interests of the citizens of the State of Idaho that Representative Hart be re-instated to his position on the Revenue and Tax Committee.
All five of the Region One County Chairmen are in support of this letter.”
Respectfully,
John Cross

I just wonder if Angela Cross is also a supporter of Rep. Hart?
