When you throw in six weeks vacation and three weeks sick leave, plus 11 paid holidays per year and the opportunity to retire at 55 with a great pension, it makes you wonder what would drive someone to do what she’s accused of. Whereas I feel sorry for the employee’s family, I’m glad the audit processes in place at the city discovered the suspicious activity and brought it to an end. I’m curious to see how it was done, as a warning to other entities in this age of electronic transfers.
