Traveler: Crying Baby Onboard

Traveler (re: Bill Hall: When babies fly): My wife and I were on a flight from Los Angeles to Seattle a few years ago. About an hour into the flight, a baby right across the aisle from us started crying extremely loudly and didn’t stop for the remaining three hours. Nobody said anything to the parents, of course, but what I found surprising was that nearly all conversation ceased altogether for the rest of the flight. As soon as the plane touched down, the baby went to sleep, and you could almost hear the collective sigh from the rest of the passengers. Longest three hours of our lives.

Question: Which could you handle better -- a crying baby on a plane or your neighbor's ever-barking dog?
