Vandal QB Worried RE: WAC Demise

Sun Belt Commissioner Karl Benson isn’t willing to close the door on inviting Idaho to join his league, but at least one Vandal player is expressing public concern about the future of his football program. The WAC, Idaho’s athletic home since 2005, is being picked apart by several other conferences, including the Sun Belt, which officially welcomed Texas State on Wednesday. The WAC could lose as many as five programs this week, prompting concern for Idaho. “What’s going on with the WAC is scaring me man,” Idaho quarterback Dominique Blackman, pictured, tweeted Wednesday from his Twitter account — @vandalsQB3. “Just give us a chance to show u this year we deserve to be D1 well shock the world with the schedule we have this year #vandalNATION,” he continued. Texas State will play the 2012-13 season in the WAC before leaving/Brian Murphy, Idaho Statesman. More here.

Question: Can you blame UI players for being upset that they might not get to play football at the Division I level?
