More Moderate R’s Emerge w/Wins

Republican incumbents and business-backed moderates appeared to be beating back challenges from libertarian-leaning upstarts who sought to turn the state GOP establishment on its head in Tuesday's primary election. GOP Sen. Patti Anne Lodge of Huston prevailed, as did Rep. Christy Perry of Nampa. Sen. Dean Cameron of Rupert and Sen. Shawn Keough of Sandpoint also won. In a close race, Hayden, Idaho real-estate appraiser Ed Morse was narrowly ahead of tax-protesting state Rep. Phil Hart, R-Athol. Lodge, Perry, Cameron and Keough all were among incumbents targeted by conservative political action committees, including one that received $15,000 from House Speaker Lawerence Denney and House Majority Leader Mike Moyle/John Miller, AP. More here.

Question: Idaho Senate heavy hitters Dean Cameron & Shawn Keough won their races despite big money poured into their opponents by state Rep. Bob Nonini, who is likely to be elected to the Senate in November. What will happen to Nonini if/when he becomes a senator?
