Senators Question EPA Sackett Action

Two months after the Supreme Court sided unanimously with a North Idaho couple, 16 GOP senators say the Environmental Protection Agency hasn't heeded lessons from its loss in court. Idaho Sens. Mike Crapo and Jim Risch co-signed the letter to EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson, which was released Thursday. The letter centers on the case of Mike and Chantell Sackett, a Priest Lake couple who took the EPA to court, arguing that the agency's rulings under the Clean Water Act are subject to court review. The Supreme Court agreed. The letter cites a May 7 article in Inside EPA, which quoted Mark Pollins, head of EPA's water enforcement division. "What's available after Sackett? Pretty much everything that was available before Sackett, said Pollins. "Internally, it's same old, same old"/Kevin Richert, Idaho Statesman. More here.
