Joker: We Need DOTC Back As Clerk

Joker writes: I’ve had some time to decompress after Tuesday’s election and I have come to some hard truths about North Idaho.

  • I am glad Dan English lost. He needs to get his old job back as the county clerk. Seriously. Cliff Hayes and his elections department have gotten progressively worse at getting the results to the people on elections night.  Hayes is proving to be incompetent. Hayes has been bungling elections, getting into fights with the courts over who can fire and hire people. Hayes has focused on budgets and the like instead of worrying about his basic job duties. I can tell you that Dan English never performed so badly. Let’s start the campaign for English right now.
  • Larry Spencer’s days as a political force are really over. Poor Larry, he was grasping at straws with his endorsement of Dan English. I had hoped Larry would decide to help the Democrats here – but sadly he couldn’t find them.
  • I am sad Phil Hart is gone. Sure we have a lot of crazy talking politicians like Vito and Vick. But we don’t have anybody doing crazy. Ed Morse has some mighty big shoes to fill. Ed better bring his A-game to entertain us. Phil needs to go out in a blaze of glory.
  • NIC Trustees meetings will be must-see TV. Ron Nilson and Christie Wood are sure to have some great back and forth – the real show will be newcomer Todd Banducci who nobody knows, but everybody is whispering about behind the scenes.
