Come January, Shoshone County will have three Republican commissioners for the first time ever. That’s the word from County Clerk Peggy White. As a result of Tuesday’s election, Jim Best and Leslee Stanley were elected. They will join Larry Yergler, who was elected in 2010.Best, who defeated Democrat Joan Block by 115 votes, won a two-year term. “I’m very excited to get into office,” said Best, a retiree who owns and manages commercial property in the area. “It shows that Shoshone County is now embracing candidates by voting for the person (and not the party),” he said. “People’s views are more open than they used to be”/Caleb Soptelean, Shoshone News Press. Question: Is there any place in Idaho that epitomizes the overthrow of Democrats by Republicans than the commissioners office in the Silver Valley?
