183 New Trees, Dog Park For McEuen

Lake City Development Corporation spokesman Keith Erickson reports:

Team McEuen provided an update to city leaders Thursday morning during a 90-minute presentation that outlined progress of the $14.2 million project. Among the details discussed: Work will ultimately include 183 new trees. A dog park is planned for the southeast corner of the project near City Hall. Realignment of the Centennial Trail is on track. And a family park with an "interactive" splash pad is in the works. All City Council members were present, including project opponents Ron Edinger, Dan Gookin, and Steve Adams. Overall, it was an upbeat and informative session.

Question: Are you surprised that the work is progressing so quickly?
