Kidd Island Search On For Woman

Update: According to Police Scanner, several searchers encountered a woman matching Schilling's description in last hour. But the woman denied being missing woman & ran into bushes.

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) is searching for a missing/endangered adult female in the area of Valhalla Rd and Kidd Island Road, south of Coeur d’Alene. At 8:48 p.m. Wednesday, KCSO received a request from the Coeur d’Alene Police Department to assist with the search of Nancy J. Schilling, 60, of Coeur d’Alene. Through cell phone contacts, she was believed to be in the area of Valhalla Road and Kidd Island Road. At about 9:30 p.m., Schilling’s car was located off Valhalla Rd and near Kidd Island Road. An intensive ground search was started from that area and continued until about 2:30 a.m. with no success. The search continue at 7 this morning, using KCSO’s Volunteer Search and Rescue Unit. Additionally, air search resources were requested from Fairchild Air Force Base. Schilling is described as a white female, 60YO, 5-foot-5, 130 lbs with blond hair and brown eyes. Anyone that may have seen Schilling or have information as to her whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office at 208-446-1300.
