RU: ‘Atlas Shrugged’? Meh

Rational Universe (re: Goedde's bill mandates 'Atlas Shrugged' ): I read "Atlas Shrugged" as a young person. I have also read "The Lord of the Rings." I believe the following quote is appropriate. “Two novels can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other involves orcs.”

  • Facebook Friend Sharon Fisher posts: "The ironic part about requiring high-school kids to read Atlas Shrugged is there's no better way to turn them off of it."

Question: What does this legislation, tongue in cheek or not, say about the bill's author, Idaho Sen. John Goedde?
