High Noon: Going To ER w/Ill Parent

On her Facebook wall, Cindy write: The good news is yesterday I got to spend some time with some cute firefighters and EMT's. The bad news is I had to call them because my mom wasn't feeling well. We spent the afternoon in the ER while the docs tried to figure out why her heart was jumping around like Richard Simmons on Red Bull. They kept her overnight, but said she'll probably be able to come home today.”

DFO: I had the same experience with my 87YO mother about a month ago. She called at 1 in the morning with a medical issue. I spent the night with her in the KMC ER. And showed up for work on time the next morning. As I sat there watching her sleep, I thought that it's OK to loose a little sleep for her when she probably lost a whole lotta sleep for me during my formative years.

Question: Have you been involved with a medical emergency involving an aging parent in the last year?
