Driver Gary Allen, 75, of Priest River, died at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane due to exposure in sub-freezing water after he crashed into water at Bear Paw Road and Highway 57 at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday. Allen was in his vehicle, which was submerged to the window opening, when the Bonner County EMS and West Pend Oreille Fire District personnel arrived.
