Quotable Quote

"In conclusion, I have no vote on the Affordable Care Act. The choice before me is whether Idaho citizens will use a federal or state exchange to access options for purchasing insurance should they voluntarily choose to use an exchange. I support a state exchange over a federally imposed exchange as the option that best prevents any steps toward a nationalized single-payer health care system. I also believe this path best protects the citizens of Idaho." -- Rep. Wendy Horman, letter to constituents via the blog of Rep. Kelley Packer. More here.

  • H/T: Kestrel West Morning Memo

Question: The reasoning of Rep. Horman, Gov. Butch Otter and the freshman "Gang of 16" seems sound to me. Obamacare is the law of the land. I don't particularly like that. But who'd you rather have overseeing administration of the exchange -- the state of Idaho or the feds? What do you think?
