Senate: Tax Commission Too Tough

The Senate has voted 18-16 in favor of SB 1103, a $200,000 supplemental appropriation for staff in the audits and collections program and the revenue operations division of the state Tax Commission, barely passing the bill and sending it to the House. Several senators said they wanted to send a message to the Tax Commission that it’s too hard on Idaho taxpayers; Sen. Monty Pearce, R-New Plymouth, said he heard from a constituent that the Tax Commission treated him far worse than the IRS when the constituent had a dispute with both/Betsy Russell, Eye on Boise. More here.

DFO: My only contacts with the Idaho Tax Commission has been very positive. Does that mean i should call Sen. Pearce and tell him to appropriate more supplemental money to Tax Commission?

Question: What have your dealings with Idaho Tax Commission been like?
