Wild Card/Wednesday — 1.2.13

Mrs. O & I toasted the New Year's enjoying Ruth Pratt and Tuxedo Junction playing in the ballroom of the Double Tree on Spokane Falls Boulevard as part of the First Night celebration. The band was playing "I'm A Believer" by the Monkees when the midnight hour struck -- and then switched tunes to "Auld Lang Syne." About half of the crowded dance floor cleared out to see the fireworks at Riverfront Park. But we stayed to hear Ruth & the band. As one guy said behind me, "Once you've seen a Coeur d'Alene fireworks show, the others aren't as impressive." Happy New Year to my Huckleberry friends out there. Now onto the first official Wild Card of 2013 ...
