Tom: We Want Person To Stay Public

Chairman Tom Hamilton of the Coeur d'Alene School Board comments:

The Board has said all along, and it was strongly reiterated again last night that we desire to see that ALL of Person Field remain a public park and green space for the local community. We also have said, and reiterated again last night that the only real way to ensure that this occurs is for the city to take ownership of the district’s parcel and protect it as a park in perpetuity. It remains our desire that the city come to the table with that in mind and we remain hopeful that this will be accomplished during our joint meeting. Full comment here.

DFO: So, if the School Board and the city of Coeur d'Alene both want Person Field to remain public (as it should be), what's the problem? My fear is that egos and ideology will get in the way & cost the public (which owns the property now) this under-appreciated city treasure.
