JohnA: Zag Win Less Than Sterling

Gonzaga's student section taunts St. Mary's key player Matthew Dellavedova during the game Thursday in the McCarthey Athletic Center. Gonzaga held on to beat Saint Mary's 83-78. Story here. (SR photo: Colin Mulvany)

JohnA: Okay, it’s great that the Zags won. But, give me a break. You lead by 20 POINTS in the second half and yet you have to hang on to win. I’m sure Mark Few is the best recruiter in the country but I don’ get how you can blow a big lead, AT HOME, and then have to hang on for the win. It’s amazing to me that someone who coached that team would not call a timeout or two to slow down the other team. That is not Few’s SOP and that is unfortunate. Well, they won, because they have the best big man and playmaker in the country. So, my hat’s off to them

Question: Have we become so spoiled by Gonzaga's success that we now wring our hands over a close win over rival Saint Mary's?
