During the LCDC meeting Thursday, Commissioner Brad Jordan commented that a proposed $4 million increase in the scope of the McEuen Field project wasn't caused by cost overrruns. Rather, he said, the increase is a result of a decision to add features that had been dropped to cut original construction costs. Also the minutes of that meeting reveal that the urban renewal district will have enough money to build a parking garage by the old federal building at Fourth & Lakeside, even if commissioners decide to provide the additional $4 million in funding for the McEuen Field upgrade.
