Sheldon Meuer, of the SR circulation department, was treated to this $26, five-pound hamburger at the Sweet Grass Cafe at the Coeur d'Alene Casino this afternoon. He told me that a sixth of the burger, dubbed Welcome Home Burger, was the equivalent to the hamburger that you see in the foreground. Said he: “I couldn't even eat the crust on the thing.” I hear Nosworthy's grills up a bigger burger, for sports teams, but it's more meatloaf than burger. In bygone days, Spokesman-Review columnist Doug Clark and I once ate a small part of a 10-pound burger cooked up at the old Shady Lady restaurant in Wardner. Also, on a dare, I once ate the 42-ounce steak at Wolf Lodge Inn. How about you?
Question (with deference to vegetarian Stickman): Have you ever eaten a lot of meat at one sitting?
