Borah Elementary Kindergartner Alex Sande sutdied the number 6 during class recently. The school has started a new curriculum including Common Core Math. The national education standard was created so students nationwide in K-12 are studying the same stuff at the same grade level and are career or college ready when they graduate. The standards are higher than what's currently required, about a grade level higher for Washington and Idaho. The approach will teach more critical thinking. (SR photo: Kathy Plonka)
