Sheriff’s office sees gun requests soar
COEUR d'ALENE - The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office won't be doing concealed weapons permit applications and renewals anymore on Monday.
The day has just gotten to be too busy.
Lt. Stu Miller said a high volume of general paperwork on Mondays from busy weekend activities coupled with continued growth of concealed weapons permit applications forced the change.
"We had so much stuff from the weekends coming in," Miller said. "We just don't have the manpower" to handle the double deluge.
The change was announced Tuesday.
Miller said the office has been handling up to 50 concealed weapons permit applications and renewals, combined, each day. Read more. David Cole, Cda Press
