From my Huckleberries (Kootenai Grapevine) print column March 14, 1988:
Mild-mannered and slightly built Steve Schenk, the North Idaho College PR man, was a starting offensive guard for a St. Louis-area high school football team in 1968. So swears Moscow chamber manager John LoBuono, a Lindbergh High underclassman at the time. Schenk played at 150 pounds. His brother Paul, a 6-foot-2, 240-pounder, received a full-ride scholarship from Nebraska the year before.
Question: How many remember Steve Schenk and his wife, Gretchen Berning, a former publisher of the Coeur d'Alene Press?
