Elderberries — 25 Years Ago

On March 7, 1988, the following three-dot item ran in my Huckleberries print column:

During her tenure, fairgrounds wonderwoman Barb Renner has expanded bookings of the facility's main buildings from 11 days to 147 annually. Her occasional wistful glances might be for revenue lost as a result of businessman Duane Hagadone's decision not to run horses there this summer.

Question: Would you like to see a return of horse racing to the area?
