Christa’s Open Letter To Pachyderms

On her Facebook wall, Christa Hazel provides this open letter to the Panhandle Pachyderm Club:

An open post to the Panhandle Pachyderms: I will not be able to attend your meeting today due to a previous commitment to our school's principal. I noticed that your meeting today is for Republican school board candidates and I believe this description applies to me as I am a registered Republican. I am also, and more importantly, an involved mother of two at Bryan Elementary. For the last two years, I have volunteered to mentor a group of kids interested in developing community-minded leadership skills. I take this role very seriously and the group of kids rely on me to be there when they are holding a fundraiser. Helping kids help their community gives me great joy. More here.

DFO: Christa brings up a good point. The various GOP groups who are running their preferred candidates (Brent Regan and Ann Seddon) through their gauntlet of luncheons are doing a great disservice to bonafide Republicans who are running for nonpartisan offices. Christa served as campaign coordinator for Congressman Helen Chenoweth, was an intern for Gov. Dirk Kempthore and worked on campaigns for other GOP officials. I'd say her Republican bonafides are stronger than her opponent's and Seddon's. Seems these clubs who call themselves Republicans only want to hear from "Republicans" who adhere to a narrow viewpoint.
