  • 1:39 p.m. Responder says water only 52 degrees; so canoeists still in water need rescue quickly.
  • 1:33 p.m. 1st Responder calling for ambulance to evaluate 2 people once rescued from Lake CdA; also wants fire boat to come to site and pick 2 people out of water.
  • 1:31 p.m. 1st Responder reports: Still 2 in the water, holding onto canoe about 100 yards out and pushing toward shore but not making progress. 3rd person has reached shore but bank is too steep to get to him without a fire truck ladder.
  • 1:23 p.m. 3 canoeist in water @ Higgens Point/Lake Coeur d'Alene after tipping canoe over. The scene of the accident is about 1.2 miles past Bennett Bay Inn; one canoeist is swimming to shore.
