Rocky Stricken

Huckleberries has learned ... that former Kootenai County Sheriff Rocky Watson, 67, of Rockford Bay Road, began radiation and chemotherapy treatment for throat cancer this week. The popular former sheriff was elected three times after being appointed to fill out Sheriff Pierce Clegg's final term in 1999. Rocky and Clegg combined to give Kootenai County solid leadership in the sheriff's office for more than two decades. In this day of political divisiveness, Rocky is a political figure who is respected by partisans on every side. Please join me in extending your prayers, thoughts and best wishes to him and his family as Rocky fights to regain his health..
