Letter: No Invitation This Year

Coeur d'Alene Press letter to Editor Mike Patrick: "For many years, you have been speaking to the North Idaho Pachyderm Club on the Friday after Election Day, giving your thoughts and analysis as to why the results of that election turned out the way they did. I believe you enjoyed doing that, and our club members appreciated your analysis, regardless of the way each election turned out. Mike, it is with regret that I will not ask you to do that on Nov. 8. Your coverage of the current campaign for the Coeur d’Alene city elections has been so lopsided in favor of the Widmyer slate, it is really reprehensible and disgusting. I believe we both know the reasons The Press has cast its lot in a very obvious attempt to promote candidates who will, as the current administration has, do the bidding of the downtown moneyed elite who pull the strings"/Bob Brooke, president of the North Idaho Pachyderm Club (and a Mary Souza supporter). More here.

Question: The Souza backers have been scu-reaming this fall re: perceived bias against their candidate by the Coeur d'Alene Press. Do you think the Souzaphiles have a legitimate beef?
