Time To Call It A Night

The Shire has been saved, Merry Hucksters. The hordes of Mordor have been vanquished for another election cycle. And we can breathe easier that the McEuen Field makeover, the antidiscrimination and the LCDC hatred are vanquished with them. The Coeur d'Alene City Council will continue with good leadership and a voting majority that will keep Councilman Dan Gookin and Steve Adams on the outside looking in, until they face re-election in two years. Voters returned the School Board to solid footing this spring when they voted out three appointee ideologues who had run it off the rails. Now, the mayor's seat and three council seats have been saved from an ideological takeover, too. Time to take a break from politics for awhile. And then see if there's enough energy left to start correcting the legislative delegation that we're sending to Boise, beginning with the Idaho House seat now held by Rep. Kathy Sims. R-Coeur d'Alene.

P.S. For those keeping score at home, Huckleberries Online shattered a blog record for page-views tonight with more than 22,000. I don't think the blog has topped 16,000 before. Thank you for your support. And thank you for saving the Shire.
