Wallace Mayor Keeps Seat By 3 Votes

In the most hotly-contested race in the election, incumbent Wallace Mayor Dick Vester bested challenger John Hansen by just three votes to secure a second term. In another fiery race, Don Kotschevar overtook four-term incumbent Mike Dunnigan by 31 votes to become the new mayor of the City of Mullan. Vester received 105 votes in his reelection bid, barely edging past Hansen’s 102 votes. The race came down to absentee ballots, with Vester securing 10 absentee votes to Hansen’s three/Bobby Atkinson, Shoshone News-Press. More Silver Valley election news here.
