Walkabout: Why Was Dock Torn Out?

Walkabout (RE: McEuen Park isn't open yet): Part of the reason for this problem could be that all access to Tubbs is blocked on the resort side of the park. Several times after the dock was torn out I saw people walking into the construction site. I saw a lady and her husband who were staying at the resort walk into the construction area and proceed to climb over the fence to access Tubbs. I would really like to know the reason why it was necessary to tear out the dock that was providing access to Tubbs Hill. If you don't walk in this area very often I guess it would never occur to someone how annoying it is to be forced to walk all the way around the construction site.

Question: I noticed in the news release from Lake City Development Corporation (link above) that the new green space at the foot of Tubbs Hill is referred to as "McEuen Park." Is that the official new name rather than McEuen Field? Anyone?
